3 Trendy Outdoor Entertaining Ideas to Try Before Summer’s End
It’s the official last month of summer, so get ready to max out the fun. Do you have any outdoor entertaining on your horizon? We hope so, because these three simple ideas will add that extra special something to your next barbeque or pool party.
Ready? Let’s dive in!
Healthy Frozen Treats
On a really, really hot day, everyone is craving a cold treat (whether they admit it or not). But high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors and colors are out of line with most healthy living goals.
Not to worry—these natural homemade frozen desserts are here to save you from the heat of the day.
There are so many delicious options to try and they’re all as beautiful as they are nutritious.
Or create your own!
To make your very own healthy frozen treat on a stick, mix together one or two items from each of these categories in a blender, pour them in your frozen pop mold and wait a few hours (it will be hard, we know).
Liquids: coconut milk, coconut water, fresh fruit juice, almond milk, rice milk
Fruits: strawberries, blueberries, mango, pineapple, banana, peach
Citrus: lemon, lime, orange
To keep them as healthy as possible, use ripe fruit that won’t require the addition of sugar or other sweeteners. Enjoy!
Pineapple husk bowls and vases
Whether your next party is a full-blown luau, or you just want to add a tropical twist to a relaxed affair, you won’t want to skip out on the opportunity to make this cute and fun DIY.
Vibrant flowers and colorful dips get the tropical treatment when housed in a pineapple husk. And the best part about this DIY project is you get to eat the scraps!
To create a pineapple bowl, you can either cut a third of the way into the fruit, or cut it in half to create two bowls. For the vase, after you cut off the top of the pineapple, carefully carve out the insides with a sharp knife and scoop them out with a spoon. You can use a corer to get perfect pineapple rings from the vase.
S’mores bars
Everybody loves warm, gooey s’mores on a summer night. You can bring the campground to your backyard with a customizeable s’mores bar. Keep it classic or experiment with gourmet add-ins like high quality chocolate or flavored marshmallows.
If you don’t have an outdoor fire pit to set your s’mores making station next to, no worries! You can create mini fire pits in ceramic or wooden planters. All you need is a chafing fuel container, chafing fuel, and river rocks. Easy!
If you do create your own fire pits, ask guests not to move them around. Those little fires might be mini, but the containers will be very hot.
Summer entertaining should never be complicated. Try one of these easy trendy ideas and you’ll be able to chill and relax with your guests (while going down in the history books as a seriously accomplished hostess). Cheers to the rest of summer!
